Welcome to our FAQ page! Below are answers to common questions about live bee removal, bee hive extractions, and relocation services in San Diego County. Our goal is to safely remove and relocate bees while protecting your property and preserving our local pollinators.
If you come across a swarm of bees—either flying together or gathered in a clump that might range in size from a softball to a basketball—it’s important to stay calm and keep your distance. Swarming bees are generally not aggressive, as they’re not protecting a hive, honey, or young bees. They’re simply in the process of finding a new home.
If a swarm seems to be moving toward you, the best thing to do is head indoors or find shelter. If that’s not an option, walk away slowly and cover your head and neck for protection.
These swarms may settle on surfaces like trees, buildings, vehicles, or sidewalks.
If you see a swarm, it’s a good idea to inform others nearby and advise them to stay away. If possible, block off the area or post a sign to prevent anyone from accidentally getting too close.
While serious allergic reactions to bee stings are rare, they can happen. If you’re not sure whether you're allergic, it’s best to be cautious. Signs of a severe allergic reaction—called anaphylaxis—usually happen right away. These may include itchy skin, puffy eyes, trouble breathing, tongue swelling, feeling faint, or even passing out. If any of these symptoms appear, call 911 immediately.
Most people can actually handle a surprising number of stings—up to about 10 stings for every pound of body weight. That means an adult could possibly survive over 1,000 stings, and children around 500. But even with this high threshold, getting stung by many bees is serious and should never be taken lightly.
If you are stung, try to stay calm. Avoid swatting or waving your arms, as this can provoke more bees. Remove any stingers by scraping them out with something flat like a credit card—don’t use tweezers, as they can squeeze more venom into the skin. Bees release a pheromone when they sting. This pheromone can attract more bees to sting the same area.

What kind of bees do you remove?
We specialize in removing honey bees, whether they’ve formed a swarm, a hive, or have moved into walls, attics, roofs, or sheds.Do you kill the bees?
No. We provide live bee removal and relocation services. Our team safely captures and transfers bees to local San Diego orchards or open spaces whenever possible.
If bees on a neighbor’s property are becoming a problem, the first step is to speak with them politely. Let them know the bees are causing a safety concern and that removing them is important for everyone’s well-being.
Unattended bee colonies can damage buildings over time and may invite other pests like ants, rats, mice, moths, or even cockroaches. If a hive is left alone long enough to become well established, it can be more difficult and costly to remove.
It’s also important to note that the property owner may be held responsible if someone is harmed by the bees.
If your neighbor is hesitant to take action, you might consider helping out by gathering quotes from professional bee removal services or even offering to help cover the cost if that’s what’s holding them back. A friendly, helpful approach often works better than confrontation when trying to resolve issues like this.
